Health? A state or a Process?



What is health?
In layman terms, Health is a state of being free from illness or injury. Simply put as that, we have a general overview of what health is. A more explicit definition was given by WHO (World Health Organisation) definition health as “a complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity” -W.H.O

Health entails not only the physical aspect of us as individuals,  it also involves the mental and social aspects of us as humans.

Physical Health
 An individual with good physical health is likely to have bodily functions and processes working at the highest possible level.

This is not only due not only to absence of disease. Regular exercise, adequate  nutrition, and rest all contribute to good health. People receive medical treatment to maintain the balance, when necessary.

Mental health
Mental health refers to a person’s  emotional and psychological well-being.
It is harder to define mental health than physical health. As the human mental health is dynamic and depends on the person immediate environment and moment.

Now we have a good overview what health is and what our health entails.
